Isa Kamali, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Poland, presented his credentials to Mr. Karol Nawrocki, President of Poland, during an official ceremony. In his meeting with the President, Dr. Kamali expressed his pleasure that the start of his mission coincided with the beginning of Mr. Nawrocki’s presidency as well as the upcoming centenary of official diplomatic relations between the two countries. He described this coincidence as a valuable opportunity to further develop and deepen bilateral relations. The Iranian Ambassador emphasized that throughout the 550-year history of relations between Iran and Poland, there has never been a negative or dark point, and that these ties have always been based on mutual understanding and respect. Referring to the recent meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, and welcoming the President’s multilateral approach, Mr. Kamali stressed the importance of continuing and strengthening contacts and exchanges of delegations to make better use of the capacities and capabilities of both nations. President Nawrocki expressed gratitude for the hospitality shown by Iranians to Polish refugees during the Second World War and, noting the positive historical background of bilateral relations, underlined his country’s readiness to open a new chapter in historical and cultural relations with Iran and to make the most of the centenary of diplomatic ties. At the conclusion of the meeting, he wished success to the Iranian Ambassador in carrying out his mission.
